JERRY JACKSON - Vocals & Cow Bell
Jerry’s soaring vocals & soulful phrasing allow the band to do material in a very wide range of genres. Jerry sang in several area bands in the 80’s before taking a long hiatus. In January of 2016, Jerry rejoined ex band mate & guitarist Kevin Leasure along with Jeff, Mike & Gary Kerr to form Mother’s Worry. His voice still sounds as great as it did in the 80’s and his fresh energy revitalized us all. His influences include Steve Perry, Dennis DeYoung, Tommy Shaw, Jon Bon Jovi, Ronnie James Dio, Glenn Hughes, George Michael, Sammy Hagar & David Coverdale.
RYAN PETERSON - Guitars & Vocals
Joining the band in fall of 2019, Ryan brings years of experience playing and singing in other local bands Including Jade & Glory and Burning Sky. Ryan gives us the ability to cover many different genres of music transitioning easily between Blues & Metal. His phrasing and tone show his adeptness in many different styles of music. Some of his favorite bands to cover are Journey, Motley Crue, Abba and Stone Temple Pilots, just to name a few. Ryan’s influences include guitar players Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, Neal Schon, and Jimmy Page.
JEFF AYRES - Guitar & Vocals
Jeff cut his teeth on 80’s metal, which gives him the ability to pick any rhythm. He is also a fantastic lead player, but rhythm is what he loves the best. His band influences include Metallica, Slayer & Overkill and his guitar influences are comprised of James Hetfield, Randy Rhodes, Zakk Wylde, Dimebag, Justin Bieber and Eddie Van Halen, who he considers a very underrated rhythm player.
MIKE GLESSNER - Drums & Vocals
Mike is the power plant that makes Mother’s Worry go. A veteran drummer who toured the central plains in the 80’s & 90’s with Masque, his have fun, straight forward, no nonsense drumming drives the band. His influences include The Dixie Chicks, Dolly Parton, Billy Ray Cyrus and The Village people.
Matthew Meals - Bass, Piano & Vocals
Born in Illinois, Matthew started taking piano lessons when he was 8 years old, began teaching himself bass guitar when he was 12, and has picked up several instruments since then. Due to his parent’s work his family moved frequently, eventually ending up in Kansas. His educational background is in Science and Music. Currently, Matthew is a public-school music educator teaching grades 6-12. His major musical influences are Black Sabbath, Britney Spears, The Doors, Crosby, Stills, Nash, and Young, Tiny Tim, Issac Hayes, and Steven Seagal.
